The Genealogy Local History Collection is one of the largest in Southern California and has a strong emphasis in 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries United States. The collection includes printed books and journals, microfilm, mocrofiche, and CD's. It has 43,000 volumes, including 6,000 family genealogies and 350 census indexes. The North San Diego County Genealogical Society supports the Genealogy and Local History Collection. |

The Libraries extensive collection of 16,000+ genealogical books and periodicals is developed and maintained by the OCCGS. (Orange County California Genealogical Society.) The collection also includes 300 family histories, immigration book sets, atlases, surname card files, NEHGS Register 1847-1977 on microfilm, and over 250 periodicals.
