The Orange County FamilySearch Library is an extension of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and one of 15 regional libraries located throughout the western United States. The library has 23 computers with access to many subscription services as well as nearly 9000 books and 17,000 microfilm reals. Microfilm and microfiche can be ordered through the library online system for viewing at the regional library.

SCGA Library has over 40,000 books including 6,000 family histories. Research resources also include manuscripts, microforms, maps, and periodicals. Library holdings include materials from every state and many countries, with emphasis on Germany, French Canadian, Cornwall, and other special collections. The SCGS Library is designated a FamilySearch Library. Family History Library films can be ordered for viewing at the library.

The Genealogy Local History Collection is one of the largest in Southern California and has a strong emphasis in 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries United States. The collection includes printed books and journals, microfilm, mocrofiche, and CD's. It has 43,000 volumes, including 6,000 family genealogies and 350 census indexes. The North San Diego County Genealogical Society supports the Genealogy and Local History Collection.

The Libraries extensive collection of 16,000+ genealogical books and periodicals is developed and maintained by the OCCGS. (Orange County California Genealogical Society.) The collection also includes 300 family histories, immigration book sets, atlases, surname card files, NEHGS Register 1847-1977 on microfilm, and over 250 periodicals. This is a good place to start if you like books.

"The Immigrant Genealogical Society (IGS) was founded in 1982 to help Americans trace their ancestors' origins, particularly in the German speaking areas of Europe and the places in the world to which they migrated. The society maintains a genealogical research library, publishes a newsletter and two periodical journals, and offers searches of its holdings for users worldwide." About half of the library's collection covers German speaking areas of Europe.

The largest public library collection in southern California. It numbers more than 40,000 volumes, including more than 10,000 genealogies. Due to the age of this collection, they have many old books now out-of-print. The map collection is one of the largest in American public libraries, with 80,000 maps, 2,000 atlases, 1000 gazetteers and over 1000 books supporting the study of maps and mapping

. The National Archives at Riverside holds more than 60,000 cubic feet of archival holdings dating from about l850 to the l990s. In addition to one-of-a-kind textual records, we hold architectural drawings, maps, and photographs. These records were created or received by Federal courts and nearly 80 Federal agencies in Arizona, southern California, and Clark County, Nevada. Federal law requires that agencies transfer permanently valuable, noncurrent records to the National Archives.

The library includes local and regional information for the Pasadena area. There is an online index, Pasadena News Index, to local newspapers with the papers available at the library. Also available are local directories.

Pomona Public Library Special Collections contains thousands of items relating to California, Pomona, and local regional history. The Pomona Valley Genealogy Society houses its collection of genealogy materials including books and periodicals at the public library. Of special interest is the Laura Ingalls Wilder Collection of manuscripts, letters and photographs.
The WAGS collection contains over 3,000 books and periodicals. The Wardman Library is the depository for the 34th U.S. Congressional District. There are more than 185 family histories including Quaker biographies.
