Now that you’ve got all the names, dates, places and relationships for all your families back to the 15th century, do you really think future generations--your children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren--are going to care?  Or will your work merely gather dust on a shelf in someone’s closet (if you’re lucky)—or go into the trash (if you’re not)?

If you’re going to leave something memorable for those future generations, maybe it’s time to do something more with those names, dates, places and relationships.  That’s where Dawn Thurston, the Memoir Mentor, shines!

Dawn Thurston helps people create stories that breathe life into the people, places and events they’re writing about.  Teacher, genealogist, and long-time friend of  GSNOCC, she is co-author (with spouse Morris Thurston) of Breathe Life Into Your Life Story. Dawn earned a bachelor’s degree in English and a masters in communications from UCLA.  In addition to conducting many local classes, she has lectured on university campuses and at national conferences throughout the U. S.  Hundreds of family historians in Southern California—including many writing prize winners--have benefitted from her knowledge and enthusiasm as they crafted memoirs and family histories.
