A Board-Certified genealogist, Jean is the Director of the Corona California Family History Center and was the lead researcher for the PBS television program Genealogy Roadshow. She holds a masters degree in speech communication and doctorate in folklore. Jean is a national speaker, known for her entertaining and informative presentations and is a frequent writer for various genealogy publications.
Jean’s husband, “Butch” Hibben, became interested in family history when he took a typing class to help his grandmother type family group sheets and pedigree charts for the family's Book of Remembrance. Fortunate to speak with his forebears about their experiences as Arizona pioneers, Butch has remembered the stories and his family’s role in the history of Utah and Arizona.
Like his pioneer ancestors, Butch was a trailblazer --but in the field of computers: initially with the U.S. Navy in the late 1950s, and later as a civilian computer technician until his retirement in 2008. He serves as Assistant Director of the Corona Family History Center and is also an audio technician and plays saw and spoons.
