Come learn what’s in the Orange County Archives when Assistant Archivist and historian Chris Jepsen speaks at our September 16th meeting. Even if you don’t have kin in Southern California, this program may help you better understand archives generally and give you an idea of the kinds of research materials you may find there. The O.C. Archives is a center for the preservation and study of local history, located in the Old County Courthouse in Santa Ana. It collects and preserves historically significant materials and helps people discover the history of their families, homes and communities. Jepsen’s program includes a virtual tour of the Archives and examples of their many fascinating holdings.
The Orange County Archives is a division of the O.C. Clerk-Recorder Dept., and is generally open to the public on weekdays (except holidays), 9:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
